HARRISON, N.J. (AP) - The New York Red Bulls announced before their Eastern Conference semifinal on Thursday night that they will donate half the gate revenue from the game to relief efforts in the wake of Superstorm Sandy.

The Red Bulls also pledged to donate half the ticket revenue from a possible home game in the conference final.

A donation starting at $250,000 will be split among the American Red Cross, the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund and The Mayor's NYC Fund for Hurricane Relief.

"As a member of the community that has supported us for many years, the Red Bulls want to aid the relief effort in any way possible," said Red Bulls general manager Jerome de Bontin.

The Red Bulls estimate the donation could reach $500,000 if they advance with a win over D.C. United.
